Bursary forms

If you need some extra financial assistance, Lakeland College has several bursaries. The bursary application period runs between Oct 15 and Nov 15.

Currently enrolled full-time student can apply for bursaries within the new awards platform.

If you ​are selected for a bursary you'll be notified. You'll receive your funds in January, after your first semester GPA and second semester full-time enrolment ​are confirmed.

January awards forms

Lakeland College offers many awards and scholarships in January to recognize outstanding achievements of currently enrolled full-time students.

Recipients are selected through a process of either faculty recommendation, nomination or by application. Final approval comes from the awards committee.

Currently enrolled full-time student can apply for January scholarships and awards within the new awards platform.

If you want to nominate a student or classmate for a January award, nomination forms are available here in January.

Year-end award forms

We offer a select number of awards and scholarships in March to:

• recognize achievements of students who are returning to post-secondary studies the following year either at Lakeland College or other specified institutions

• acknowledge graduating students who have excelled at Lakeland College 

The year-end award period runs between March 15 and April 15.

Recipients are selected through a process of application or nomination, with final approval by the awards committee.

Currently enrolled full-time student can apply for year-end awards and scholarships within the new awards platform.

CIC Indigenous Bursary

The Crown Investments Corporation of Saskatchewan (CIC) has a partnership funding agreement with Lakeland College in support of the CIC Indigenous Bursary. The intent is to provide financial aid to Indigenous students in support of their educational goals and to support and build a skilled and inclusive labour force in Saskatchewan. The Bursary reflects the commitment of CIC and the Government of Saskatchewan to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92(b) which calls for the promotion of equitable access to jobs, training and education opportunities for Indigenous peoples in the corporate sector and support for Indigenous communities to gain sustainable benefits from economic development projects.

To be eligible, you must:

• be of self-declared Indigenous ancestry (including Status First Nation, Non-Status First-Nation, Métis, or Inuit
• preference to students entering or continuing full-time studies in one of the designated Business, Environmental Sciences, or Trades & Technology programs at Lakeland College, with a minimum entrance high school average of 65% or a college Grade Point Average (GPA) of 65% (C/2.0 average) - see preferred programs below
• have been a resident of Saskatchewan during the past 12 months
• may be registered on or off-campus in any undergraduate program
• may have completed courses at the Lakeland College or another post-secondary institution

Payment is given in two installments: one in the fall and one in the winter, upon confirmation of full-time enrolment. To receive the 2nd payment you must achieve a GPA of 65% or better on the fall term, and continue to be enrolled full-time in the winter term.  If you are applying for the first time for the winter term, you are entitled to one installment.

If there are funds available after awarding to students from preferred programs, a student from another program who meets all the other bursary requirements will be considered.

Application period run between June 1 to July 31.  A second application period will be opened prior to the Winter term, if all funds have not been assigned.

The 2024/25 Winter CIC Indigenous Bursary application is now available. Deadline is Dec 15.
