Fees and payments tile
The Financial Account tile is all about checking fees and making online payments through My Lakeland.
How do I see my outstanding charges? |
All information about your financial account is found under the Financial Account tile.
When you open the tile, the first thing you see is your account balance. This is listed by term/semester.

When are my tuition and program fees due? |
The due date for tuition and fees is listed on your My Lakeland account. Click on the Financial Accounts tile, then select Charges Due from the left-hand menu. Click on the Details of Charges Due tab. The due date is listed in the left-hand column. The due date is also listed on our website. Click on Programs and Courses > School/Department > Program Name > Important Dates. |
What are my payment options? |
There are several ways to pay your fees. Most people pay online through either their My Lakeland account or their bank’s bill payment feature. For other options or more information, please refer to our How to Pay Tuition and Fees page. |
Can I use my phone or tablet to access My Lakeland and make a payment? |
The Make a Payment page doesn't adapt to the screen size of those devices. For your best experience, we strongly recommend you use a desktop or laptop computer when you make a payment. |
How do I make a payment using My Lakeland? |
Click on the Financial Account tile, then select Make a Payment from the menu. This will bring up details about all the charges on your account. ![]() To pay all charges click on Pay Charges and the amounts will fill in automatically. Click Next. On the Confirm Payment page, click Continue to Make a Payment. This will transfer you to Moneris, our secure payment service. On the Moneris site you'll fill in your credit card information. Click on Checkout. When your payment is accepted, you will then be taken back to My Lakeland to view the confirmation. |
Do I need to pay all the charges on my account? |
Yes, all charges that are listed on your account must be paid by the due date. This keeps your account in good standing and allows you to remain enrolled/registered in your classes. If you wish to make a partial payment, you can. Just remember your account needs to be paid in full before the due date to avoid late charges. What happens if I miss the payment deadline? |
If you miss the tuition due date, late fees are added to your account. Additional late fees are added every week that you are late. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact financialaid@lakelandcollege.ca. |
I made a payment but it's not showing on my account. |
Depending on how you made that payment, it make take several days for the payment to be posted to your account. Bank bill payments, for example, may take up to 5 days. If you are certain you have made a payment please do not pay again. Instead, wait for a few days and recheck your account. If, after waiting, you are concerned about a missing payment, please email us at studentaccounts@lakelandcollege.ca. |
I have been approved for a student loan, what do I do about my outstanding fees? |
If you are receiving Student Aid and Lakeland has confirmed your enrolment, we will place a Hold on your record. Click on the Task tile to find the details. If your student aid doesn't cover your entire tuition, the dollar amount listed in your Hold to determine any outstanding balance that's due before the deadline. |
What about residence fees? |
You can pay residence fees using your preferred payment method. Note: If you receive student aid, Lakeland isn't permitted to collect residence fees directly from your student aid. Instead, you'll have to pay residence fees after your loan comes through. |
Other post-secondaries charge a convenience fee for using a credit card, does Lakeland? |
Yes we do. The 2.5% convenience fee is charged by Moneris and this amount isn't shown on your outstanding fees. However, this non-refundable fee will show up in the total charges on your credit card statement. To avoid credit card fees, pay via cheque or online banking. |
