Interlibrary Loans
When should I request an interlibrary loan?
Books
When you are searching for a book, you can use either the Find Books, Articles & More search box or the library catalogue search on the library's homepage.
If there is a print copy of the book available at Lakeland College or another library in the NEOS consortium, you can request it by placing a hold using your library barcode and PIN. Then, choose your preferred pickup library location.
If you can't locate the book that you are searching for, you can request it using our interlibrary loan request form:
- Sign in to the interlibrary loan page using your library barcode and PIN.
- Enter the book's title and fill-in the other required fields in the form.
We will try to locate the book at another library and request it for you. Interlibrary loans may take up to 6 weeks to arrive, depending on where the book is coming from.
Articles
When you are searching to find the full text copy of an article, search the article's title using the Find Books, Articles & More search box on the library's homepage.
If the article you wish to read is not available in full text via this search tool, take these steps:
- Click the Request this item through interlibrary loan button below the article citation to be redirected to the interlibrary loan request form.
- Sign in to the interlibrary loan page using your library barcode and PIN.
- Fill-in the required fields in the form.
Articles generally are available within one week. You will get an email letting you know when the article is available. That email will provide a link to download the article or you will be directed to pick-up a print copy of the article at the circulation desk in the library.
