Student Printing

Reduce your environmental impact with our new print credit system.

To reduce unnecessary printing, you can now purchase print credits. $10 print credit cards are available at the campus bookstores.

You'll be using PaperCut accounts — where you'll add credits, or even transfer credits. See the PaperCut account drop down for more information.

Also check out our paper saving tips.

Your PaperCut account
You can access your PaperCut account at any time using the following URLs. Please copy them and paste in your browser:
  • Vermilion:  http://vmprint:9191/user
  • Lloydminster: http://ldprint:9191/user
Your PaperCut account includes:
  • an account summary — dashboard view of your balance and a report on the printing you’ve done at Lakeland College
  • a transaction history — a detailed log of all print credits, debits and transfers
  • a list of recent print jobs — a detailed log of all you've printed
  • tips to reduce paper waste — see the tile on reducing paper waste
Add print credits to your account

1. Log in to any Lakeland College computer.

2. Look for the PaperCut widget on the top right side of your desktop screen.  Click on Click here to add print credits.

3. Log in to the PaperCut web portal using the same username and password as you used to log on to the college computer.

4. Click Redeem Card on the left side.

5. Type in the code from your card. Enter the code as it is written including dashes.

6. Click the green Redeem Card button on the bottom right.

7. Close the PaperCut web portal and continue using the computer as usual.

Tips to save paper and reduce waste
  • Double side your documents whenever possible. Printing on both sides takes half as much paper.
  • Reduce the margins and font size on your papers/projects. Keep in mind best reading is at about an 11 pt font size. Some projects will have set margins or you will need a wider margin if the document is being bound.
  • Use print preview and only print the pages you need.
  • Print multiple PowerPoint slides on one page. Go to Print Settings and change the print layout to Handouts and designate the number of slides you want to appear on each page (you can choose up to 9 slides). PaperCut will only count the single page, not the number of slides on the page.
  • Whenever possible, collaborate using electronic documents.
  • Think before you print: "Do I really need to print this email/webpage/assignment?".
What is the cost of printing?
You need to start by buying a print credit card at your campus bookstore. Cards are set up to decline in balance. They start at $10 and go down based on these prices.
  • 10¢ a sheet for letter sized black and white copies
  • 40¢ a sheet for letter sized colour copies
What should I do if I have a problem with a printer?
Report printer problems to Information Technology (IT) office on your campus:
  • Room 2067 in Lloydminster 8:15 am - 4:30 pm weekdays M-F
  • The Commons (library) in Vermilion 8:15 am - 4:30 pm weekdays M-F
