Peer Tutors: Creating Success
No matter what you're studying—agriculture to apprenticeship, firefighting to university transfer—you are eligible for tutoring help.
We've matched students who ask for help with an experienced student or a classmate for years. Tutoring can be has one-on-one, or can be part of a larger session for a specific subject such as math.
Now, our tutoring service is going digital. Lakeland has partnered with Nimbus Learning, a mobile learning platform. We have 2 goals to serve you better:
- to make the booking, scheduling and communication easier
- to provide support for as many courses as possible.
You'll be able to sign up as a tutor or to get a tutor.
While the process is digital, some things won't change:
- If you need a tutor, Lakeland College students receive $240 per semester in tutor credits.
- If you are a tutor, you'll be paid and that's not the only benefit.
The Nimbus app is available from both the App Store and Google Play.

Group tutoring |
Some courses just seem to require extra help. Group tutorials are often arranged for botany, mapping, chemistry, math and accounting. Sometimes they start at the beginning of the semester.
