Where to Eat
It's said that we travel on our stomachs. So, living in another country is part of the living and learning experience.
There are cafeterias on campus. If you live in residence, you'll also have access to a shared kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.
Grocery stores may be different than what you are used to, and the same with restaurants. Although more grocery stores are stocking "international" choices.
At Lakeland, we like to have events with food—from free giveaways from the students' associations to potlucks in residence.

Special events |

Watch for special events held on campuses where you may be able to try a new activity, try some different foods, connect with acquaintances, or meet new people.
The students' associations on both campuses offer free snacks. Vermilion campus often has a meal deal at the Students' Centre such as a spaghetti night. Residences often organize a special dinner for Canadian holidays. Often this is a potluck where everyone brings a dish to share If you'd like to share one of your country's holidays with your new Canadian friends, talk to your Student's Association about the possibility of helping to organize this type of event. |
