Open House 2019 was a tremendous success with over 1,050 prospective students and visitors coming to our Vermilion and Lloydminster campuses. They took part in tours, tried hands-on activities and learned more about all the amazing programs Lakeland has to offer. We received 503 applications and 279 of them were in-person. Our off-campus applications nearly doubled this year over last year, from 121 to 224!

Craig Blythe
Lakeland alumnus and third grade teacher Craig Blythe found his passion for teaching in the university transfer program. Now he's sharing that passion with his students at Rendell Park School in Lloydminster.

Rustlers recap

  • Scott Guenthner, Lakeland alumnus, is the two-time steer wrestling champion at the Canadian Finals Rodeo. Chett Deitz, Class of 2018, is the 2019 Canadian Novice Bareback Champion. Lilly Artemenko and Fayth Panchuk, current Rustlers rodeo team members, represented Lakeland in Breakaway Roping, and alumnus Kirby Wanchuk competed in Saddlebronc riding. All three had great showings!
  • Our women's basketball team captured two wins against The King's University Eagles on Nov. 1 and 2.
  • Our men's basketball team finished the Nov. 1 and 2 weekend with two wins against The King's University Eagles.
  • Our women's volleyball team got their first win of the season against the NAIT Ooks on Nov. 1 and lost to them on Nov. 2.
  • Our men's volleyball team suffered their first losses of the season to the NAIT Ooks.
