Lakeland College will conditionally accept you if you are enrolled in one of our approved partner schools.

When you successfully complete the program, with a minimum score, you'll have met our English language requirements.

Approved schools & minimum scores

  • Bayswater Education (formerly known as Stafford House) - minimum score of 80% in Level 6
  • First College - minimum score of 70% in their English for Academic Purposes (EPA) 500
  • Create Career College - minimum score of 70% in its English for Academic Purposes program
  • Heartland - minimum completed of Advanced Level 2

Note: Results from these programs are valid for two years after you finish the program. We won't be able to accept your scores if the results will be older than 2 years before the Lakeland program starts.

How to take this path

  1. Choose, apply and be accepted at one of the approved English language schools.
  2. Apply to Lakeland College.
  3. With your application, you will need to send us your high school or other courses showing us you meet the academic requirements. We'll evaluate your transcript and let you know if you need to do any entrance testing.
  4. Send us a copy of your letter of acceptance from the approved language school. This acceptance letter must show the start and end dates of your program.
  5. We can offer you a conditional admission to Lakeland if:
    • you meet the academic requirements
    • you send us a copy of your acceptance letter from the approved language school
    • there is an available place in the program

After you complete the approved English language program

Now show us proof of your English language skills, also known as English language proficiency.

  • Send an official transcript from the approved school by the deadline we provided you in the conditional letter of acceptance.
  • The transcript should show you have met the minimum marks we require (see the list of schools and scores above).
  • Have your approved school send an official electronic transcript to us at admissions@lakelandcollege.ca.
Important notes:
  • If you don't meet the English language proficiency conditions by the deadline, your application will be cancelled.
  • There are no deferments.
  • Tuition deposit are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Please see our refund policy for more details.
