High School Counsellors
Get in on the secret: Lakeland College isn’t just an ag school.
We excel in providing workforce ready education. And yet, more than two-thirds of our grads continue their education.
Why do they start here? Any number of reasons:
- student-managed and student-led opportunities
- hands-on, real world experiences
- job-ready skills
- ability to transfer after a diploma for a degree in 2 more years
- ability to start and complete a degree in Lloydminster
- accessible faculty
- a family atmosphere
- for some, we’re close to home or not in a metropolitan area
Gateway to success
Above all, they come for our programs.
- our traditional agricultural science programs with the strong student-managed focus
- outstanding career-focused programs in interior design technology
- hands-on, industry recognized environment sciences
- business including 3 majors, 2 certificates and a degree option
- university transfer courses to start a degree, and even complete a degree in Lloydminster
- 6 apprenticeship trades: automotive service technician, carpentry, electrician, heavy equipment technician, parts technician and welding
- unique blend of power engineering and heavy oil in our energy programs and the state of the art Energy Centre
- our nationally recognized fire and emergency services training at our Emergency Training Centre
Our satisfaction rates are high. Over 90 percent of our students say they had a positive educational experience and would recommend Lakeland College to others.
