George Canyon headlines 2017 President’s Gala

Lakeland College will celebrate students and community during the 5th President’s Gala on March 24, 2017.

“Student leadership is at the heart of what Lakeland provides,” says Alice Wainwright-Stewart, president of Lakeland. “During this incredible event, we’ll celebrate student achievement and our fantastic community’s support. From providing practicum placements to serving on advisory committees, creating scholarships and providing rental accommodations, our students and our college succeed because of our community. Together, we’re helping thousands of students achieve their goals.”

Headlining the gala is George Canyon, a Canadian country music legend. The multi-Juno award winner and platinum selling artist will share a special acoustic performance with gala guests on March 24 at the Lloydminster campus. A four-course meal complete with table service, a luxury raffle package, and live and silent auctions are also part of the event.

All proceeds raised at the President’s Gala will support Lakeland’s student awards program.

Featuring a unique theme – “reflections” – the 2017 President’s Gala is an opportunity for the college to engage the community and reflect on its latest achievements and student success.
