Adult 12

• You can be from anywhere in Canada.
• You must be 19 years old and have been out of school for at least one full year.
• We encourage you to have completed grade 11 level courses before you apply to Adult 12.
• To apply, you must complete the Lakeland College online application form and questionnaire.
• High school transcript, if available, must be submitted at the time of application.
• You are eligible to take one course per semester. *Special permission may be granted to take two courses once your transcript has been reviewed.
• You may need to be interviewed and do a placement assessment before you can be accepted.
• You are expected to attend all classes and complete all assignments, quizzes and exams.

• English Language Arts A 30
• English Language Arts B 30
• A Canadian studies from these choices: History 30, Native Studies 30, Social Studies 30
• One Mathematics at the 20 or 30 level
• One Science at the 20 or 30 level
• Two electives at the 30 level. One may be a prior learning credit, if you took at 30 level course in the past

You'll receive a grade 12 standing by completing 7 credits. At least of 5 of those credits have to be at a 30 (grade 12) level. Math and Science only have to be at a 20 (grade 11) level.

Note: This Saskatchewan program was once known as academic upgrading. It's been refreshed as Adult 12. Grades are recorded in the province's Student Data System (SDS).

Textbooks

You’ll pay a non-refundable fee of $50 for textbook/printing. The textbooks are loaned and must be returned after you finish the course.

If you live in Saskatchewan, you may qualify for tuition funding.

The next courses start — September 5, 2023.
All courses are in the evening from 6:30–9 pm on either Mondays/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursdays

• Math Foundations 20 Mondays & Wednesdays 
• Math Foundations 30 Mondays & Wednesdays
• English Language Arts B30: Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Chemistry 30 Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Biology 30 TBA Note: Math 20 and 30-level science courses will run based on community demand/need.

There are 4steps in the application process.

1. Fill in the application and questionnaire form. It includes questions about education and career goals.
2. Send us a copy of any high school transcripts.
3. We use the ACCUPLACER assessment to ensure you are placed in the right course(s).
4. Interview may be requested on an individual basis.
