Your first semester at Lakeland will help you confirm your chosen stream, or find the best fit for your goals and dreams.
In particular, the Introduction to Agribusiness course, will expose you to the diverse directions you might take. You'll discover career paths and do sector analysis.
If you register in one stream, but are intrigued by another, you'll be able to change your focus going into the second semester.

Agrifood and Tourism
Develop business ideas using agricultural products in innovative ways.
Career paths - entrepreneur, value-added production, on-farm tourism, market garden enterprise
Finance
Focus on specific business and financial management practices and tools.
Career paths - farm succession planning, agricultural lending, agricultural accounting
Marketing
Manage product, price, placement and promotion to sell to and meet customer’s needs.
Career paths - agri-communications, product marketing and agricultural advocacy
Production
Apply business practices to crop, livestock and or mixed farm operations.
Career paths - crop/livestock farmer, ag retail sales and service such as animal nutrition, ag equipment sales, grain buyer
Sustainability
Consider economic, social and environmental factors in long term agribusiness success.
