AHT Admissions and Graduation Requirements

Admission requirements

High school diploma with a minimum 50% (unless otherwise noted) in:

• English 30-1 or 65% in English 30-2

• Chemistry 30

• 60% in Biology 30

• 60% in Math 30-1/Math 30-2

If you didn’t graduate from an Alberta high school, please refer to the English, math and science provincial subject equivalencies. 

 Acceptance is competitive based on a combination of academics and a work experience evaluation (minimum 40 hours).

• You will be sent a work experience evaluation form.
• Work experience must be completed at a veterinary clinic within the past two years or before the middle of July for September admission.

Graduation requirements

When you complete the requirements with a minimum grade point average of 2.0, you will be awarded a Diploma in Animal Health Technology.
