We're going online and offering you flexibility plus.

Lakeland is offering the 10 common 1st year business courses for our business diploma majors online. You have options:

Start in September or January.
Mix online with face-to-face classes based on your schedule.
Take courses part-time.
Continue on and complete one of our business administration majors:

Also note:

This schedule allows you to complete either the first year of a diploma major or exit with a business administration certificate program.
After you are accepted into the program, you'll meet with your academic advisor to register for courses and create your schedule. If you're planning part-time studies, you'll discuss your options then.

Tuition and fees

Tuition and fees are the same for full-time online and full-time face-to-face. Check the approximate costs on our fee calculator.

If you plan to take the courses part-time, you must still apply to the program.

After you're accepted, you'll meet with the academic advisor.
Estimated tuition and fees are approximately $550 per course.

This is particularly important if you'd like to mix online and face-to-face courses, or only take courses part-time.

FAQ

What does online mean?

Online means you complete the work on your own time, with no scheduled lectures.

Can I take a mix of online and face-to-face classes through the year?

Yes, you'll talk with your academic advisor to determine what mix of face-to-face and online classes works best for you.

Will an instructor be available to answer questions and give help?

Yes, each course has an instructor that is available to help you. You can email questions and set up appointments or virtual meetings with them during their office hours.

Will I have access to the library and other students supports and services?

Yes. You'll pay comprehensive fees that give you access to all of our supports and services.

Can I do this on a part-time basis, a course or two while I'm working?

Yes. Again, your academic advisor will help you pick which courses and how many courses you want to take per semester.

I'm in the administrative professional program - can I take these online classes?

The 10 courses being offered online aren't part of this program. Two of the admin professional courses are already online.

I'm in the accounting technician program - can I take these online classes?

You can take a maximum of 7 of the online classes. The rest will have to be taken face-to-face. You can discuss your options and what's available with your academic advisor.

Am I eligible for a student loan if I take online courses?

If you are enrolled in 3 or more courses per semester you are eligible for a student loan. Contact our student services office in Lloydminster at 780 871 5700 or visit our financial aid & awards pages.

I completed all 10 courses, can I get a credential for this?

Yes. You have the courses to continue into a 2nd year and earn a diploma. If this taste of business was enough, you can exit with a 1-year Business Administration Certificate. This is something else you can discuss with your academic advisor.
