Admission requirements
For the best chance of success, you should have a strong understanding of math and physics. If you need a refresher, Lakeland offers pre-engineering mathematics and applied mechanics.
If you plan to go on to higher classifications, for example 2nd year of the process and power engineering (PPE) program, you must have Physics 20. Physics 30 is strongly recommended, but isn't a requirement.
Graduation requirements
Students who have completed the requirements listed and have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.3 will be awarded a Lakeland College Fourth Class Power Engineering certificate.
Note: 65% is the passing mark for each course. This is also the Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA) passing grade.
