Barber Jobs and Careers

To work as a barber in Alberta, you must be a registered apprentice, a certified journeyperson or have a valid recognized credential from another province.

Barbers are part of two trends.

One is barbers and a barber shops. Some men are looking for the traditional barbershop feel of camaraderie. But the man of the 21st century also wants that experience to expand to higher quality services and pampering along with the socializing.

Another emerging trend is in unisex cuts. Barbers, particularly hair cut specialists, work with any gender with cuts from clipper short to layered, long.
