| This course is an overview of using color to promote harmony. Course content includes color psychology, skin tone and their relationship with different colors. Pre/co-requisites: None |

| This course provides an overview of the anatomy of the skin and its function and of skin types and conditions. Various skin analysis tools and the recording of the findings are covered. Pre/co-requisites: None |

| HS 165 Diseases & Pharmacology - 3 credits |
| This course is an overview of common disorders and diseases of the skin. Although estheticians are not qualified to treat skin diseases or medical conditions, they need a basic understanding of these diseases and the treatment drugs. | This is course is an overview of the importance of skin factors and function of normal skin. Understanding the skin and taking care of it comes with knowledge of good nutrition. Essential nutrients for growth, nourishment and repair are circulated through the skin. This course provides the student with the basic understanding of taking care of the skin and the factors and function of how health affects the skin of an individual. Pre/co-requisites: None |

| This course provides esthetician students with practical application using machines for facial treatments. Prerequisite: HS 160. Co-requisites: None |
| HS 168 Advanced Clinical Skin Care & Business Practices - 3 credits |
| This course gives an overview of advanced clinical skin care as well as body treatments. It also introduces students to career opportunities in medical esthetics. Students will have the opportunity learn how to create their own business in the esthetics field. Pre/co-requisites: None |
| HS 169 Basic Massage Techniques Lab - 3 credits |
| This course deals with body systems, bones, muscles and nerves. Students gain practical knowledge and experience with relaxation massage, hot rock massage and receive an overview of reflexology. Pre/co-requisites: None |
