Unlike our apprenticeship programs, you don’t need to have a job. Instead, you spend 12-weeks at our Trades Centre. You’ll take the same technical training (classroom instruction) as a first-year apprentice:
- basic maintenance
- brake systems
- electrical systems
- safety training
- steering and suspension
After this training you may qualify to write the 1st year automotive apprenticeship exam.
Then, you go on a 4-week work placement. It’s a chance to practice what you’ve learned and connect with the industry. Your next step could be becoming an automotive service apprentice.
