Pre-employment Welder Admissions and Graduation Requirements

Admission requirements

A minimum of 50% in:

• English 10-2
• Math 10-3

Or, GED - Pass mark in all 5 tests

Note: Most employers prefer to hire high school graduates.

If you didn’t graduate from an Alberta high school, please refer to the English, math and science provincial subject equivalencies. If you don’t meet the admission requirements, please refer to special admissions.

Students should also refer to the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training website for information about trade requirements and career opportunities.

Graduation requirements

When you successfully complete the requirements, you  will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement.
