Each year of Alberta’s Apprenticeship and Industry Training 4-year automotive service program includes:
- an 8-week technical training period with an exam
- a minimum of 1,500 hours of on-the-job training
As an automotive service technician your work falls into 3 categories:
- preventative maintenance
- diagnosing problems
- repairs
Your time at Lakeland isn't just hitting the books. You’ll work on cars and light trucks in our Trades Centre labs. You’ll learn more about:
- brakes and basic maintenance
- transmissions and transaxles
- fuel and ignition systems
