The most popular transfers for an elementary education BEd are to the University of Alberta and the University of Saskatchewan.

Both universities have been changing their requirements, so please consult their websites.

Once you've been accepted at Lakeland you'll meet with our academic advisor. You'll discuss your best course options and best transfer route based on your career goals.

to the University of Alberta

Your admission GPA is calculated on all transferable courses complete the most recent 2 terms of study (minimum of 24 credits).
The minimum admission GPA is 2.0, however admission is competitive and a higher GPA boosts your chances.
March 1 is the application deadline for fall admission.
You have until March 15 to submit a transcript of your completed courses and your current courses.
You have until June 15 to submit the final transcript for your year. Check out the U of A’s elementary education route information.
Once you are accepted, you’ll be sent an official program outline to identify what courses they need to complete their program.
You have many BEd degree options at U of A including a

4-year degree
5-year combined degree (with another degree including BA, Bachelor of Kinesiology, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Science)
Aboriginal teacher education program (ATEP)
one-year BEd after degree and off-campus collaborative programs.

to the University of Saskatchewan

- We recommend you transfer after one year at Lakeland. Education courses have been added to the first 2 years, and we don't offer equivalent courses.
- Check details about admission to the BEd elementary route.

Note: Completing university transfer courses doesn't guarantee you admission to degree programs at universities.

You must also meet all the admission requirements of the degree-granting institution. This may include appropriate high school courses and averages.
Admission is competitive. There may be quotas for number of students admitted to the degree program at the receiving institution.
Some receiving institutions specify a minimum grade for transfer credit.
If you change a program or receiving institution, be aware that there may not be room in the new program.
