- 50% in English 30-1
2. Proof of English language proficiency

- Applicants who have not met the academic English requirement will need to complete upgrading or an ACCUPLACER assessment test. This includes all applicants who completed their education outside of Canada. Review our special admissions information.
- If you completed high school outside of Alberta, check provincial subject equivalents.

- Admission to Lakeland College does not guarantee admission to programs at other post-secondary institutions. Students must meet the entrance requirements of the degree granting post-secondary institution, which may include specific high school pre-requisite courses, as well as a minimum and/or competitive GPA. Check the academic requirements of the university you plan to attend.

Enrolment is the final step after you've been accepted, paid your tuition deposit, and the timetable has been set.
Note: Please check your junk mail folder to see if the email is there. If you've attended university – Please bring your transcripts (official or unofficial) to your meeting with the academic advisor. You don't need to submit your transcript for a transfer credit. Knowing about previous courses will help as you choose your courses. |
Volunteer and work hours |
Work and volunteer hours in a related field are part of the application process in the transfer routes to University of Calgary, University of Regina & MacEwan University social work programs. Start building connections early so you can fulfil the required hours and build strong references. This is especially important if you plan to go into the program from high school. You will be competing against mature students who may have many years of life, work and volunteer experience. So you need to start in high school and continue during your pre-professional year(s) to add to your experience. |
