Lakeland College is preparing to open its doors - virtually - for Open House 2020.
“Open House is always one of the highlights of the year at Lakeland,” says Kayleigh Schmid, Lakeland's recruitment and enrolment supervisor. “Though we can't welcome people to campus to attend in person, we are excited to bring the Lakeland experience to the community virtually.
"It's a new opportunity to showcase our programs and facilities in ways we haven't before and we are excited to connect with everyone. Plus, anyone interested in applying to Lakeland can do so for free during Open House.”
Virtual sessions will be hosted online on Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24. The sessions will feature interactions with instructors and students, program-specific information, details about student life at Lakeland, activities and contests, and virtual tours.
There will be student supports sessions offering an overview of resources available to students at Lakeland, including counselling, Indigenous supports, health services, financial aid and awards, the library and learning commons, and accessibility services.
The enrolment team will also be available at the Open House Help Centre for the duration of Open House, through virtual chats, video conferencing and telephone.
The Open House sessions are tailored to prospective students, high school teachers and counsellors and career counsellors, though everyone is welcome to tune in to learn the latest information about Lakeland College.
Prospective students can apply for free with a promo code that will be available during Open House and save $90. Those intending to apply can prepare in advance by registering for their My Alberta Digital ID, have their Alberta Student Number handy, and have their high school courses and marks available.
