The fall 2021 semester is upon us and preparations are underway to welcome students to Lakeland College.
Our plan is to have our campus community fully engaged in learning and campus life
at our Vermilion and Lloydminster campuses this fall.
Both of our campuses - one in Vermilion and one in Lloydminster - are designed to guide students beyond the classroom, creating tangible environments where they can learn, lead and manage. More than just practicums or work-study jobs, we create our programs with the future in mind, ensuring that after graduation, our students have the experience and knowledge to make a meaningful impact on their industries.
With guidance from provincial health authorities and the Ministry of Advanced Education, we will ensure any required health and safety protocols are in place so that our students can fully benefit from our excellence in hands-on education.
On Aug. 9, Lakeland's latest COVID-19 Guidelines were shared, outlining restriction changes at both campuses. These guidelines are based on provincial guidelines. While mandatory restrictions have been lifted, everyone is encouraged to assess and manage their personal risk and use precautions that will serve their needs.
Over the last year, Lakeland was successful in providing a blended program delivery that allowed more than 90 per cent of our students to engage in on-campus, in-person learning activities. Sixty per cent of total course hours were delivered on campus and in person in 2020-21. If need be, we're poised to provide that once more as the past year has provided our campus community with the blueprint to do so.
Any future COVID-19 updates will continue to be shared on our website at lakelandcollege.ca/covid19.
Many post-secondary institutions promise a hands-on education, but Lakeland goes far beyond expectations, providing truly immersive experiences that shape futures and prepare students for the real world. We can't wait to fully provide those experiences to our students this year.
Thank you to all of our students for choosing to invest in their future with Lakeland College.
Thank you,
