For all our ceremonies
- If it's determined you aren't eligible to graduate at this time, your academic advisor or program chair will be in contact with you.
- If you're unable to attend the ceremony, please let us know:
- call 1 800 661 6490
- email kyla.graham@lakelandcollege.ca.
If you're unable to walk up stairs and onto the stage, please let us know as soon as you can.
- Ceremonies usually run just under 2 hours.
- Look for a QR code link to the convocation program. It will be posted around the venue. Your guests will be able to follow the program. You'll also be able to download and print the program.
- There is no limit to the number of guests you can bring but seating is limited and on a first come, first seated basis.
- Due to the nature, length of the program and limited number of seats, we recommend leaving little ones at home.
- There will be a photographer on site the days of the ceremonies for cap/gown photos with friends and family (drop-in only before and after the ceremonies). There is no obligation to purchase any photos. Session fees are payable at time of session to the photographer. For more information, contact reimaginedportraitart@gmail.com.
- Family and friends are welcome to take pictures before, during and after the ceremonies. They should come up close when you're on the stage.
- Lakeland staff will also be taking photos before, during and after the ceremonies and those photos will be posted on Flickr where they can be downloaded for free.
The student with the highest academic standing on each campus receives the Governor General's medal.
President's Medals are presented at each campus convocation.
Graduates who are 2nd, 3rd and even 4th generation alumni are also recognized with generation pins.
Distinguished citizens or distinguished alumni are convocation speakers.
President's Circle inductees are honoured the day before convocation.
- fresh roses – singles, 3-pack, 6-pack, and dozen bouquets (while supplies last)
- diploma frames
- grad teddy bears
- Lakeland apparel and merchandise
- Gifts, cold water and tissues – because convocation is emotional
Convocation teas are opportunity for your family and friends to meet your classmates and your instructors and take pictures. Everyone is welcome.
In Lloydminster, the tea is in the Servus Credit Union Hospitality Centre immediately after the ceremony.
In Vermilion, the tea is between the two ceremonies back on campus, in the cafeteria located in Alumni Hall.
