ApplyAlberta is an online application system for Alberta post-secondary institutions. The system also includes a transcript transfer process if you attended an accredited Alberta high school or a participating Alberta post secondary school.
The ApplyAlberta process has 3 steps to submit an application:
- Create an Alberta.ca Account
- Create an ApplyAlberta profile
- Complete the Lakeland College application form
If you would like to change your program choice after an application has been submitted, send an email to the Admissions team to discuss your options. In many cases, we can update your application for the same term.
Need more help?
Please see the resources below for guidance on the application process and extra information.
If you already have an account, just sign in and verify that your information is still correct. Edit personal details if required and then proceed to step 2. Create an ApplyAlberta profile.
If you do not have an account, you will need to create one. A ‘Basic’ account is required to proceed with ApplyAlberta. You do not require a ‘Verified’ account to apply to Lakeland.
Alberta Student Number
- To check if you have an Alberta Student Number, use the ASN Lookup service.
- If you do not have an assigned Alberta Student Number, one will be created during the application process.
Once you’ve signed in, the system will attempt to match your Alberta Student Number by confirming your legal name provided when you created your My Alberta.ca Account.
If you receive a message that says, ‘Sorry, that ASN is already connected to a ‘My Alberta Account’ this means that you already created an account with a different email address that has your Alberta Student Number (ASN) connected to it. An ASN can only be tied to one Alberta.ca Account. In order to proceed you will need to logout of the account you are currently in and then login with the other, connected, account. If you no longer have access to the email address or cannot recall the other account, you will need to phone the Alberta.ca Help Desk for assistance.
After you confirm your basic account by clicking on the link in your email and entering your password, sign out of your account.
On the sign in page, click on Available Services.
On the Available Services page, select Post Secondary and Education. Choose the 3rd option – Apply to programs at Alberta’s post-secondary institutions and then click on Apply Alberta to be directed back to the sign in page. When you sign in, it will direct you to step 2. Create an Apply Alberta profile.
Tips
- My Alberta.ca account was set up to make it easier for Albertans to access a number of Alberta government services.
- It's also required when you use ApplyAlberta, whether or not you're an Albertan.
- Only a basic account is required to access ApplyAlberta.
- An email address can only be used for one MyAlberta.ca account.
- Use your own email.
- Avoid using your high school email address as you may lose access to it after you graduate.
- If you are a parent or guardian filling out the form, don't use a family email or your personal email.
- You'll have to confirm your email address before your account is created. Be ready to check for the confirmation link. It expires in 96 hours.
- Use your legal name including a middle name. We need that information for our student and financial records.
On the ApplyAlberta homepage, select Start Application and then Apply Now (green tiles).
The first page of your ApplyAlberta profile will be a Privacy & Legal Agreement.
Proceed in entering your personal information including your legal name, birth date, citizenship and contact information.
Enter your academic history. It is important that you fill this out as accurately as possible.
- High school information: You will need to provide the name of every high school you have attended or are currently attending, the date you started and the date you finished your studies. If you attended more that one, be sure to ‘Add School’.
- High school courses and grades information: We may be able to use your course and mark information to determine eligibility for a program and to grant conditional admission before final marks are available.
- Post-Secondary academic history: Be sure to provide the name of every post-secondary institution you have attended or are currently attending, the date you started and the date you finished your studies, and whether you have or will be obtaining a credential (diploma, degree, etc). If you attended more that one, be sure to ‘Add Institution’.
A checkmark will be displayed when you complete each page and the information will be saved for future use.
Once all the ApplyAlberta profile pages are complete, you will be able to select the Alberta post secondary institution you want to apply to. Choose ‘Lakeland College’.
