Go beyond your Lakeland classroom and right into the classroom of your future students.
Start, or complete, a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree on our Lloydminster campus.
You'll really know if you are cut out for teaching youngsters when you interact with them in a school setting. It may be in a PEDS class where you work with an elementary or junior high physical education class, or take your Math Fair game to elementary students.
Your teaching goal will determine how many credits you may take at Lakeland. It also depends on where you want to finish your degree and:
- if you want to teach at the elementary or secondary level
- what your subject area specializations are (for applicable routes)
How you answer those questions will determine if you can spend one or two year, or even four years here.
BEd is one of the most popular transfer routes at Lakeland. Most students finish their degrees at the University of Alberta or the University of Saskatchewan. One of the U of A routes is Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP). Apply to the elementary education route.
However, Lakeland also has a way for you can complete your degree on campus: Our transfer agreement BEd through the University of Calgary.
