How your academic advisor can help

Your first contact with the academic advisor will be before you start classes.

You’ll work together to choose the classes that fit your plan and create a comfortable timetable.

If you come for a second year, you’ll do the same thing.

If you change your mind about a route, then the advisor is there to help you understand your options and guide you in making a decision.

If you're interested in our university transfer program, please start with the enrolment specialist.

Once you are accepted and have paid your tuition deposit, the academic advisor will contact you about an appointment after the class schedule has been set. For Fall intake, expect contact by the end of May. For Winter intake, expect contact by the end of November.

What you should know about transfers

It is very important to understand that completing university transfer courses doesn't guarantee you admission to degree programs at universities.

Your advisor will help you move through all the steps, but the academic side is up to you.

You must also meet all the admission requirements of the degree-granting institution. This may include:

• specific high school courses and averages
• competitive admission - There may be quotas for the number of students admitted to the degree program at the receiving institution.
• minimum grade for transfer - Some receiving institutions specify a minimum grade for transfer credit.
• room in a program - If you change your program or your receiving institution, be aware that there may not be room in the new program.
