Learning starts here
When you come to Lakeland College, you come for an education that takes you beyond the classroom. We're here to help you thrive.
Whether you're experiencing a disability, chronic health condition or a temporary illness, Accessibility Services will work with you to arrange accommodations and to support you in your transition to Lakeland College. We also provide guidance on funding options (such as available grants), review documentation and collaborate with you to create the right academic accommodations for you.
What do we need from you?
Our team needs you to provide current and official documentation (from your medical provider) that:
- states your diagnosis and/or describes the challenges and academic difficulties you face
- explains how your learning is affected by your condition and, if applicable, by your treatment
- recommends supports or accommodations that may help you succeed
If you don't have this documentation, please have your doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist complete our Medical Verification form. Please note that any costs associated with obtaining documentation are your responsibility.
If additional assessments or documentation are needed, we can assist you in connecting with the right resources. Please connect with an Accessiblity Coordinator at least three months before your program starts to ensure your accommodations are ready when you arrive. Appointments can be made by emailing the Vermilion campus, patricia.petty@lakelandcollege.ca, or the Lloydminster campus, sheena.parker@lakelandcollege.ca.
