On campus labs, online theory
Lakeland's blended learning veterinary technology program is almost identical to what you'd experience if you came to our Vermilion campus.
All the admission requirements and tuition fees are the same. Your instructors are vets and vet tech professionals. Like the face-to-face program, you'll finish with a 6-week practicum.
You'll also practice skills in the Animal Health Clinic. Our state-of-the-art animal health clinic is a provincially and nationally accredited facility.
You’ll come onto campus 6 times over the course of the program. You can expect to be participating in labs for about 11 days per visit.
One major difference is that all lectures and non-lab course work will be online. Each module follows a set schedule with specific dates and class times, all of which require mandatory attendance, including participation in virtual labs. Students will receive the detailed schedule outlining these dates and times prior to the start of their modules. Check out the VT Blended Important Dates (link here) for details of each module.
As well, the Blended Program has a pre-clinical practicum between and first and second year that reflects the student-led clinic experience.
The program requires a commitment of at least 10 hours of lecture material and 10 hours of assignments each week. To ensure success, we strongly recommend that students avoid full-time employment, as a minimum of 20 hours per week is needed for lectures, assignments, and virtual labs.
This is a full-load program. That means it qualifies for student loans
Note: this program is only available to Canadian Citizens and permanent residents.
