You’ll learn hands-on and through student-managed activities on our Student-Managed Farm - Powered by New Holland (SMF).
Those activities range from practical herd management to implementing new technologies.
As a member of the SMF dairy unit you'll help manage the college's dairy herd. Your team makes production decisions based what you learn from:
- working with robot and parlour milking systems as well as automated feeding in the Dairy Learning Centre
-
training through CowSignals
-
connecting with industry including Alberta Milk
-
developing skills such as barn management and budgeting
You’ll graduate armed with the knowledge and tools to return to the farm or to make your mark in another area of the dairy sector.
