  • define a P & ID
  • describe why they are important to the operation of a facility
  • identify and describe the written information on the P & IDs
  • understand how to reference lead sheets and mechanical line lists
  • understand how to read line numbers, line designations and equipment labelling
  • identify symbols selected for instruments and describe how instruments are used to control processes
  • be able to trace a flow of a process stream within a P & ID
