Do more than recognize mental health problems you encounter on the job.

Empower yourself to improve mental and emotional wellbeing in your community.

Courses are offered online to provide you with flexibility. 

  • Part-time students can apply to start the program in the fall, winter or spring term.

In our community mental health programs you'll:

  • learn tools and options that support resiliency
  • gain knowledge and skills to promote mental health and wellness
  • focus on awareness and prevention as well as supporting interventions
  • discover ways to work or partner with current community supports

If you already have human services training and want to supplement your job skills, this program is for you. The only requirement is that you have a certificate, diploma or degree.

Online courses are delivered over 3 semesters - fall, winter and spring.

Online course information

Enrolment is the final step after you've been accepted.

  • You will self-register in your courses.
  • You can expect an email from the Office of the Registrar beginning one week before registration opens. It will include instructions on how to self-register and pay tuition using My Lakeland.

About practicums

You need a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) to be eligible for your practicum/field placement.

You must have completed or be in the process of successfully completing:

  • 9 Community Mental Health (CMH) courses
