International Eligible Programs
Your program options
International students are eligible to take most of our Lakeland College certificate and diploma programs.
However, there are exceptions. Check the available programs below, as well as the list of programs that aren't open to international students.
Also, some programs have caps on the number of international students. Please apply as soon as possible to avoid being disappointed.
Before you apply, please check if the program accepts international students and if there is room in the program. If you have any questions, please email international@lakelandcollege.ca.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer all our programs to international students. Study permit issues with part-time status and residency requirements are two of the reasons why we can't offer them to you. The following programs are unable to take international students:

Business programs |
Business at Lakeland College provides you with options in our diploma program, a general business administration major, or take a more specific area of study. Once you're accepted in the program, a business advisor will guide you in choosing electives. You pick courses that match your interests and career needs.
As well, the administrative professional certificate program is open to international students. At this time, the optional co-op summer program is not available to international students. |
Energy programs |
The Process and Power Engineering program combines 3rd Class power engineering and heavy oil operations to broaden your future job options beyond the oil and gas industry. Both these courses require industry practicums. You will need a work permit. |
Environmental sciences programs |
Lakeland's Environmental Sciences diploma allows you to choose from one of four majors:
Some of our students do a double major by spending one more year here. This is also a 2+2 program. This means you spend 2 years at Lakeland and get a diploma, then 2 years at university for a degree. Lakeland has transfer agreements with several universities. The applied degree and wildlife and fisheries major are not available to international students at this time. Newly added to the list of environmental programs available to international students is our online Sustainable Energy certificate and diploma program. Please note: the Sustainable Energy Technology program is geared toward professionals and delivered online. Completion of the program doesn't qualify you to apply for a Canadian PGWP. |
Esthetician and clinical esthetician program |
Learn the art of making someone feel great. You'll promote wellness as an important part of health care, use specialized skin care treatments, and address beauty, anti-aging and stress issues.
|
Human services programs |
Two of our human services programs are open to international students.
|
Interior design program |
Lakeland College's Interior Design Technology diploma program is accredited by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) based in the US. Our students have consistently won awards in the NKBA's student competitions. |
